| #2587 | I have been invited to take part in the IAICC↗ (which stands for International Artificial Intelligence and Creativity Conference) & Blender Conference this year again, it was a very cool event, this time we have a lot more attendees and a lot of versatility in the people who come here. I think this event could become a thing for Blender heads in Asian regions. Talks and DemonstrationsThe event is like half Blender, half AI. There are a lot of talks of how people used either of them in production environment. Very interesting to see different usages of AI that I haven't thought of previously, also in a teaching context, where for students who wants to make animations, they can use AI to generate a lot of assets and help with the render&composition while themselves can focus on storytelling. A lot of studios around the world are presenting. This includes the Flow team as well. I'm especially impressed with the work from the South African vfx studio as well. The main organizer of this event (Raymond) was a very ambitious person, they would love to spread the power of computer graphics and storytelling in the entire Asia region. They have also announced a global collaborative feature animation project that's based on a certain Chinese historical topic but re-imagined. The aim is to have a lot of students and vfx people to work on parts of the story, then it will become some collected animated series. In the process there will also be AI involved. Personally I don't really fancy the AI look, it remains to be seen what people would come up with in the end. I was there to present a intro to Blender development. Since there are a lot of students, so I didn't go into too much technical detail, but just used my experiences and examples to hopefully inspire younger audiences and serve as an encouragement for them to dig deeper to solve their issues. | |
