I'm considering a image indexing method that fits the evolution of digital space, the Internet and our subconscious, It will take the form of a virtual map, visitors could navigate with geological features, the map could also expand spatially with images that are uploaded. To put it simply, it looks like a google street view, and all creations provides an organic influence to the map structure itself.
More Detailed
"Street View of Dreams" is meant to present imaginary/virtual scenes in a form of map street view, it will also allow visitors to poke around inside the map which provides a base for extended imagining.
This project is envisioned as a digital program, which takes the form of a map application, it will allow visitors to click on icons on the map to go to the corresponding “street view”artwork. This project can also be presented as a physical spatial installation made with printed artworks and other entities. It can be treated as a collaborative art project, in which multiple artists grow the imaginative world structure organically.Programming of such platform is needed per project requirements, an alternative form of this project can be to put imaginative artworks in existing map applications which serves as a surprise for normal viewers. After the infrastructure of this project being done, we can allow all kinds of people to upload their works (e.g. via map apps/Weichat programs) or participate in this collaborative imagination in other ways, which would expand and iterate the subconscious structure continuously.
I have a very simple prototype of the street view program already, visit here↗ or here↗ to see it in action, you could click on the squares to see other scenes that's related to current scene. Or you could also click the "Random" button, it works like MapCrunch.
